As the Stanley Cup Finals approach in Nashville, officials are warning fans about scalped tickets.

While most people see scalped tickets as tickets that are sold at a higher price, they can also be fake tickets that can leave you on the outside looking in on game day.

“I assume there’s probably gonna be 100 or 200 people that are gonna come up with counterfeit tickets that probably spent a lot of money on them," Sean Henry, President and CEO of the Nashville Predators said.

During the Western Conference Finals, there were numerous reports of fake tickets being sold to fans.

Because of that, experts suggest only buying through Ticketmaster or someone you know personally, or going to a watch party instead.

“It would be a lot more fun going to a watch party than hoping the tickets you just bought were real," Henry said.

Police also warn that there could be professional scalpers from all over the country traveling to Nashville with the goal of cheating people out of tickets to the Stanley Cup Finals game. They suggest if you do buy scalped tickets that you buy them from a website that guarantees their tickets, that way you can get a refund if the ticket is fake, but you still may not be able to make it into the event.
