The lockdown at Hendersonville Medical Center has been lifted after officials searched the building and found no threat.

Hendersonville Police officials confirmed the lockdown started around 6:30 a.m. at the hospital located on New Shackle Island Road after a bomb threat was phoned in.

Det. Sgt. Jim Vaughn said an anonymous person called and said he placed a bomb inside the building. At that point, police began shutting down the hospital.

Authorities were forced to turn away patients and employees at the hospital's entrances.

A triage unit was set up at the neighboring Fire Hall number 5, where nurses are on-hand for emergencies. A hospital spokesperson said no patients were put at risk during the ordeal.

Crews conducted a sweep of the building but did not find anything.

A suspect has not been arrested in the incident.
